February 20 – Sparrows at Silver Bluff – We will meet at the visitor center picnic pavilion at 8 am to talk about sparrows. It is not as hard as people think to identify these little brown birds and Lois will give you tips and suggestions on how to tell them apart. We will walk around the field at the start of the Quail Trail and possibly walk into the sparrow field to get hands-on field work in identifying sparrows.

Augusta-Aiken Audubon’s field trips are open at no charge to all chapter members and the public. We encourage everyone to come out and join us.
Some tips to make the trips more comfortable: bring a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and drinking water. Sturdy walking shoes are recommended as is having rain-gear nearby.
Morning trips in fall and in spring usually begin at 8 am and end around noon. Winter trips usually begin at 9:00 am and end around noon. Summer field trips during the hot weather usually begin at 8 am and end around 11 am.
