The Center for African American History, Art & Culture (CAAHAC) proudly announces the opening of its Black Pearl Exhibit. This exhibit celebrates the astounding life of a professor, community steward, mother, and exceptional woman: Dr. Marlene O’Bryant Seabrook.
A native of Charleston, SC, Dr. Seabrook is the mother of world-renowned historian Wayne O’Bryant. Additionally, Dr. Seabrook was an internationally exhibited quilter and lecturer. Her work has been featured at the Smithsonian and in numerous publications. Today her pieces can be found at The Center for African American History, Art & Culture in Aiken and the Arts & Heritage Center of North Augusta.
The opening reception and presentation are free and open to the public. Speaker for the evening is Wayne O’Bryant.
