Wagener’s Hometown Holiday will continue in the Norman Rockwell’s Small Town USA theme this year.
2020 has been an unusual, difficult year. The pandemic has affected every aspect of life and will affect our Hometown Holiday as well. We will do our best to provide the holiday experience you have come to expect.
Join Wagener for our annual Hometown Holiday Celebration December 4 and 5, 2020. There will be special events starting on Friday evening and continuing through Saturday evening. Please notify town hall in advance if you will be placing an entry in the parade. You can register online or by calling the office at 803.564.3412.
On Friday evening, carriage rides will begin at 5:00 pm. From 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm, you can catch musical performances at the Pavilion. We will have our annual tree lighting at dusk and Fireworks will be displayed at the end of the evening’s activities.
All through the night, you can enjoy a horse-drawn wagon ride around town, the pick-up place is at the Gazebo in front of Christ Central’s Cafe’. Horse and Carriage rides provided by Blackleg Acres will be available from 5:00 – 7:30 PM on Friday evening, Dec. 4. You can ride around town and view the decorations and lights. You can board at the Gazebo. The Wagener Museum will be open during the weekend Friday night and Saturday after the parade through 1:30. The Little Bake Shoppe and the Christ Central Cafe’ usually have hot beverages and cookies available. Several businesses will feature an open house.
At 5:00 pm we’ll have the Tree Lighting ceremony followed by musical performances and a Fireworks Extravaganza.
Our Annual Christmas Parade will begin at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 5. If you’d like to enter a float in the parade, you must register in advance. You can register online here or by clicking the parade registration button at the top of this page or you can register in person at Town Hall. You can call the Town Hall at 803.564.3412. Groups participating in the parade need to be at the Busbee/Corbett School by 10:00 a.m. to line up.
